Collages of Friends
This trio of paintings is the result of a final project in my Alla Prima painting course I took during my time at Tulane University. I wanted to combine realistic imagery in abstract ways using the overarching theme of friendship.
Lucky Us
Friends find us in many ways, but it often feels like a random roll of the dice. It is very lucky to have people to love andHaving people to love and to dance with is lucky. The female figures here are based on a picture I took of my two best friends dancing in my kitchen
Be Home Soon
This collage of images represents how you can find a home anywhere as long as you have your people. The three people represented here are based on another picture I took of my friends walking down the narrow streets of Florence, Italy, during our semester abroad. While it was difficult moving to a foreign country, even for a few months, the friendships that I created there made it far more difficult to leave.
You and I
Having a best friend can make life feel as vibrant as this piece. Based on a picture of me and a friend sitting in the grass together during Mardi Gras.
